This course is designed for the students who wish to learn French language from the beginning. From the beginning to the end of the course all four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) are focused step by step. This course will be the foundation that lead you to perform all the skills in your target language.

Objectives

Develop an interest and an enthusiasm for foreign language learning.
Fulfilling the need to learn French as a foreign language in a global society.
Providing opportunities to Sri Lankan students to achieve four basic competencies of a well-known European foreign language learning.
Communicating awareness and understanding the contemporary Francophone and cultural backgrounds, while understanding the use of the French language for a range of basic needs and purposes.

Methodology

New methods are implemented through out the course with the latest methods that are used on foreign language learning. Modern technology is used in communication and information technology is used in the classrooms. Workshops and seminars along with interactive programmes will be conducted throughout the course

Course outcome

At the end of the course students will be able to,
Start speaking the language and identify the sounds of French language.
Write simple structured words correctly.
Understand and respond with confidence.
Listen and understand dialogues in French for language development and pronunciation.
Understand and enjoy reading simple poems in French

Lesson will be conducted by a panel of dynamic and highly qualified lecturers.
Language lab will be opened for the students to access the language
Language hub will be opened for the students to perform the activities and also to refer the books in French language.
Mini theater will be opened for the students to develop their listening ability of the French language.
